Within the patch notes for Stardew Valley 1.6, ConcernedApe informed us that there are over 280 new pieces of furniture that we can now purchase or find and place in the world. Some of this furniture is found through Catalogues, but they’re not easy to get.
Furniture Catalogues are classed as decorative items that, when placed down on your farm, give you unrestricted access to a long list of themed items. Each Catalogue has its own theme and it’s usually obvious what that theme is from the name of the Catalogue itself.
One of these Catalogues, the Trash Catalogue, is filled with the kind of thing that would make any self-respecting Raccoon (and his lovely family) happy – Trash. The items included include a Moldy Couch, a Broken Television, and even the Plastic Lawn Chair that you recognize from the front of Pam and Penny’s house at the beginning of the game.
Sadly, you can’t give these items to your Raccoon neighbors and they won’t help you to fulfill his requests, but they’re certainly interesting decorative pieces that can give your Farm and the surrounding area a unique atmosphere.
How to get the Trash Catalogue
To get the Trash Catalogue, it’s honestly as simple as rummaging through all the bins every day until RNG takes pity on your desperation and gives you the item. There’s no set time frame for how long this can take, you simply have to persevere until you find it.
If you’re going to go digging through the trash, I’d recommend not letting any of the Villagers see you. They will be disgusted, rightfully so, and you’ll lose friendship with them if they catch you often enough. If there’s a Villager around, move on to the next trash can and then circle back.
I won’t spoil the entirety of the contents of the Trash Catalogue for you, but it contains a myriad of mouldy, broken, and probably rather smelly items which, if you’re playing on a more progressed save file, can really help to undo the good work done by the Trash Bear.
