Despite the queen regent’s misdeeds, her son Sven isn’t so bad and will often work with you throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2. In particular, he’ll ask for help in the A Veil of Gossamer Clouds quest, showcasing a peculiar unfinished letter from Disa. Here’s where to start and complete this mission.
Where to find Sven for Dragon’s Dogma 2 A Veil of Gossamer Clouds
The A Veil of Gossamer quest triggers after a guard approaches you near Vernworth’s Shakir’s Inn. They may also appear in other places, specifically within the Vernworth radius. Those who don’t trigger it must complete Brant’s missions to unlock the pathway to Bakbatthal. In return, the guard instructs you to meet with Sven, but his whereabouts aren’t explicitly shown on the map. To find Sven for the Veil of Gossamer Clouds quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, go to Vernworth Castle’s second floor.
Head inside the castle and continue forward until you see a set of stairs on the right.
Travel up the stairs to Sven’s Chamber in the upper left corner. He’ll be inside the room, which will trigger the start of the quest.
How to investigate the letter for Dragon’s Dogma 2 A Veil of Gossamer Clouds
Now, it’s time to travel to Bakbatthal in order to investigate the letter. You can get there quickly by taking the West Vernworth Oxcart Station to Checkpoint Rest Town and then the South Border Checkpoint Oxcart Station to Bakbatthal. If you haven’t unlocked the second Oxcart location yet, you must travel there by foot.
Go to the entryway to the right of the Residential Ward and take another right into the Forbidden Magick Research Lab. There will be a sign in front of the walkway stating that no trespassers can enter (just ignore that). This area is also the same location linked to the main quest for Flickering Shadows.
Once inside, a dialogue scene triggers, and you must walk to the Labatorium Workshop # 2 to pick up the Letter to Lord Phaesus. The room is right behind the upper-left corner of the giant dragon.
The letter lies on a table right in front of the doorway:
Return to Sven to show him the letter, providing 20,000 G and a Ferrystone. Since Sven is critical to the main storyline, you’ll likely re-encounter him as you progress through the journey.
