How to make a Compost Bin in LEGO Fortnite
Building a Compost Bin in LEGO Fortnite requires unlocking and collecting the following materials:
- Plank x5
- Soil x2
- Sand x1
- Fertilizer x3
Once you have all five items, you’ll find the Compost Bin recipe in your build menu, allowing you to place it down and begin breaking down items for soil, fertilizer, and biomass.
The first item on the material list is planks. To get planks in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll need to obtain regular wood and use it in a Lumber Mill. You’ll need five wood for all five planks, which should only take a few trees. If you haven’t built a Lumber Mill yet, you’ll need 8 wood and 15 granite to create it, followed by extra wood for your planks. After some processing time, you’ll have the planks for your compost bin.
Next, you need soil and sand. Both require getting a shovel and digging in the Grasslands and the Dry Valley desert biome. Sand is more challenging to find, as exploring the desert requires having heat-resistance gear, but you won’t need to spend too much time digging for one sand.
Lastly, you’ll need three fertilizers for this recipe. Finding fertilizer requires having animals like cows, sheep, and chickens around. They drop fertilizer over time, which you can pick up and store in your inventory.
How to use a Compost Bin in LEGO Fortnite
Once you build your compost bin, open it to find a queue, processing section, and created compost area. Here, you’ll insert items into your queue so they process, and after a few minutes, you’ll find items in your created compost section.
You can get one of three items using the Compost Bin:
- Soil
- Fertilizer
- Biomass
In particular, biomass is an important material, as you need it to create power cells for vehicles. To get these items, use organic materials like food, seeds, and monster drops. You’ll often get a mix of these three materials, which you can use to make more Compost Bins, vehicles, and more.
