Don’t get kicked before seeing your hero.

Most MOBA players have a favorite hero and a routine they go through in every match. New players can cause issues, though, which is where Error P-2312 comes into play in Predecessor.

As with all online games, Predecessor has its fair share of errors to contend with. Error P-2312 is one that you’ll see most often when a new update launches because these always bring lapsed players back into the fold alongside a few newcomers. It’s an error triggered during the hero pick phase of a match, and it can be infuriating if you’re just trying to jump into what you hope is a quick game before stopping for the day.

To fix Error P-2312 in Predecessor, you need to quit the current match you’re trying to play and restart the matchmaking process. the error is caused when a player doesn’t pick a hero or role before the timer expires. This causes everyone in the lobby to be kicked from matchmaking, but you’ll likely find that the next match you try to get into doesn’t have this problem.

I’ve encountered Error P-2312 in Predecessor twice in a row before, but after that, it stopped. I think this was almost certainly due to a percentage of players at the time being newcomers or lapsed fans who were getting back into the game and not understanding what was required of them. This was around the launch of the Xbox Series X/S version of the title, and the error hasn’t appeared nearly as much now we’re past that.

To avoid causing Error P-2312 in Predecessor, ensure you pick your hero role and hero as quickly as possible. The hero role screen always throws me off because it’s dark and doesn’t look like it requires you to do anything. However, you must select your role before the 20-second timer ends, or you’ll trigger this error.

Likewise, it pays to pick your hero on the next screen even before it’s your turn. This will show other players which hero you’d prefer to be, and if no one’s selected them before you, then you get to be that hero and lock them in once your turn rolls around. Just be sure you lock the hero in on your turn, or that could also cause this error to occur.
