Once you start diving into the Mines in Stardew Valley, you’ll soon find yourself desperate for some kind of weapons upgrade. While you can grind away and work towards eradication goals for the Adventure Guild, you can also get your hands on the Galaxy Sword relatively easily.
The Galaxy Sword in Stardew Valley is a level 13 sword boasting an damage stat of between 60 and 80. It can be purchased from the Adventurer’s Guild eventually for 50,000 Gold, but you can get it before that point, completely free, using a Prismatic Shard.
How to get the Galaxy Sword in Stardew Valley
Before you can obtain a Galaxy Sword, you’ll need to have repaired the Bus. You can do this by completing the Vault bundles within the Community Center (which involves paying a few fixed amounts of money totalling 42,500 Gold) or by purchasing the bus repair via the Joja Community Development Form, which costs 40,000 Gold.
However you choose to get the bus repaired (hopefully without turning to the Joja dark side), you can now use it to get to the Calico Desert.
Once you’re in the Desert, head north and find the triangular formation of pylons behind the Desert Trader’s tent. The first time you head there, you’ll likely wonder what it’s for, but the secret is revealed when you stand in the middle of this pixel stone-henge type location while holding a Prismatic Shard.
Doing so will reward you with the Galaxy Sword – it really is as easy as that.
How to get Prismatic Shards in Stardew Valley
The most challenging part of trying to get the Galaxy Sword is getting your hands on a Prismatic Shard in the first place. This gemstone is incredibly rare – to the point that I recommend anyone who finds their first keep it, rather than donating it to the museum, because you’re going to need it at some point. Donate the second one you find.
There’s a number of different ways that you can possibly get a Prismatic Shard, including two guaranteed ways which arrive far too late to make them useful in terms of getting the Galaxy Sword before it becomes available to buy. Unfortunately, the other sources of this precious stone are far from guaranteed.
