Modern Warfare 3 players haven’t quite come around to the KV Broadside yet, but a new Conversion Kit makes the shotgun a compelling option in multiplayer.
According to WZ Ranked, the KV Broadside is the 15th most popular weapon in MW3 with a 1 percent pick rate. The Haymaker outclasses the shotgun, and other SMGs, such as the RAM-9, WSP Swarm, and HRM-9, also put the KV Broadside to shame, so it’s not surprising that players prefer other weapons. With no room in the short-range meta, Sledgehammer Games made the brilliant decision to create a Conversion Kit for the KV Broadside that transfoms the shotgun into a battle rifle.
With no clear favorite in the long-range meta category, the KV Broadside is true contender thanks to the JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit.
Best KV Broadside JAK Jawbreaker class setup in MW3
- Muzzle: ZEHM35 Compensated Barrel
- Optic: JAK Glassless Optic
- Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip
- Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip
- Conversion Kit: JAK Jawbreaker Grip
Our loadout focuses on mitigating an otherwise unruly recoil pattern to control. The Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip, Demo-X2 Grip, and ZEHM35 Compensated Barrel all help improve several combinations of gun kick control, vertical and horizontal recoil, aiming idle sway, and firing aim stability. Meanwhile, we aren’t a fan of the weapon’s base iron sights so we recommend using an optic to have a cleaner line of sight while firing at weapons. As for the JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit, it significantly reduces mobility, but the drastic improvements to gun kick control bullet velocity, range, and damage are what make the battle rifle truly shine in long-range engagements.
This loadout is capable of three shot killing an enemy from any range, and has a time-to-kill speed of 280 milliseconds, which is one of the fastest in the game. In addition, only one headshot is needed to improve that TTK speed to 140 milliseconds and make the weapon a two-shot kill up to 40 meters. For players who hoped that this weapon would also translate to Warzone, the Conversion Kit doesn’t translate as well when attempting to stretch gunfights further than what you encounter on a 6v6 map.
A 20-round mag size, slow fire rate, and uncontrollable long-range accuracy make the KV Broadside only viable in MW3 multiplayer. Don’t expect this new Conversion kit to take over 6v6 matches, but it should be an intriguing enough option to try if you are looking for something new or different from what everyone else is using.
