IESB found out earlier this week that 20th Century Fox has hired writer Kyle Ward to pen the script for the Hitman movie sequel. Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will be returning as producers on the film as well.
Why would they do something like this? Because the first movie grossed 100 million worldwide in box offices. That’s not even including DVD sales, either. It’s pretty impressive that a videogame movie made this much, but the average audience probably had no idea this was a videogame first. Still, not bad.
Kyle Ward also wrote the Kane and Lynch movie script and filming for that movie is expected to start later this year starring Bruce Willis.
Finally, the last bit of news is something you all will actually care about. IESB was told that the next chapter in the Hitman videogame series is expected by the end of 2010 and “it will take Agent 47 in a whole new direction.” Well ain’t that just some cool news!
