Digital Extremes revealed today that Protea Prime Access is coming to Warframe early next month with all sorts of improvements that make it well worth picking up.
Warframe‘s next highly anticipated Prime form, Protea Prime, is less than a month away for all fans to purchase or grind for as they play across all platforms. What makes Protea so interesting is that she was assigned to an incredibly important role: protecting Parvos Granum, the Founder of the Corpus Faction, which is why she’s imbued with abilities that allow her to manipulate time.
When does Protea Prime come to Warframe?
The release date for Protea Prime in Warframe has been confirmed as May 1, 2024. Players really don’t have long to wait, two weeks today, in fact, before they can purchase Prime Access and get her instantly or begin the grind to unlock her in-game. With increased Energy, Armor, and a Dash Polarity Mod Slot, this is one Warframe that could carry you through a huge chunk of the game’s missions.
If you aren’t purchasing Prime Access to get Protea Prime, then you’re able to craft her by collecting her relevant Blueprint, Systems, Chassis, and Neuroptics in Void Fissure Missions. While I’ll always be a sucker for Grendel, I have to say that Protea Prime looks pretty incredible, and her movement and abilities seem perfect for anyone jumping back into Warframe and needs a bit of a boost.
Protea has a selection of abilities that anyone can use to devastating effect. She’s capable of tossing clusters of grenades that damage can stun enemies, making them easier to kill. She can also summon a temporary turret that shoots plasma charges to kill enemies from one point while she works on dealing damage from another.
This Warframe can also summon defensive charges that will heal and recharge shields for her and allies in a pinch. But her best ability of all is the power to rewind time. Protea records her starting point and then runs into battle, killing as many enemies as possible. Then, when she’s done, she’ll cause an explosion that deals a portion of the damage she took in that short time while reverting to her starting position and state. This puts her health, shields, and ammo all back to the state they were in before the battle.
That’s not all, though, because you can also get two Prime weapons for Protea from May 1. These are the dual daggers, Okina Prime, and the single-handed pistol, Velox Prime. If you love the way she looks, you can also grab the Chronorum Helmet, Rhoptron Syandana Back Piece, and the Temporal Prime Ephemera Energy Aura to make your Protea look just as outstanding.
Warframe is a stunning but incredibly intense game that throws hundreds of enemies at you in some missions. If you’re not prepared, you’ll fall fast and be a burden to any other players on the map or in that mission with you. Protea allows you to make mistakes, and her Prime variant is even more powerful.
