Monday Mind Teasers: Little Wheel

Recommended Videos

Hey guys and gamer girls, I hope your minds are extra alert tonight since I’m introducing a new direction for this weekly feature. This mind teaser column was the first reoccurring article on the site, and after more than three fun and challenging years, it’s just as exciting, but growing harder to come up with new ideas!

There’s only so many game covers out there, and I often find myself resorting to themes based on newer game covers and titles, and even occasionally digging up old themes. A few times in the past I used gamer word jumbles and/or crossword puzzles, and I’m definitely considering adopting those Monday methods once again, but for now I want to try something new.

A few years ago we had a Sunday Sidequests feature (Hi Sheir!) that brought a lot of readers weekly flash game joy, so from now on I’d like to open up the Monday Mind Teasers as an official place for flash game reader recommendations. Just leave your suggestions in the comments or feel free to send me an email at Fronz at Destructoid.

For now I’m looking for flash games (or ajax or whatever else floats or sinks your brain boat) that are puzzle or adventure based in a mind teaser fashion. However, if I get enough good suggestions, I’d even be up for splitting this into two features: Monday Mind Teasers and Monday Minigames.

This week I present you with a neat little flash puzzle game that has great background music and a very appropriate name: Little Wheel. All of the art is a cool cartoony noir style filled with Portal-esque cutebots, but the gameplay is very similar to Machinarium, so I can tell some of you are bouncing in your seats already. The story is as simple as a world full of robots has short circuited . . . until now when a lightning bolt reboots one tiny wheeled hero who must plug in the rest of the world. Aside from being very Chadtastic, its only downfalls are that it’s both very short and very easy — the game world even has some numbered signs tucked into the backdrop that help guide you along. All the more reason to play it though!

You can play Little Wheel here or here, or other One Click Dog games here. Don’t forget to leave me flash game suggestions!
