Each weapon in Hades 2 comes with numerous benefits and drawbacks over the other weapons. One such weapon is the Moonstone Axe, with various Boons and Daedalus Hammer upgrades able to make up for certain drawbacks. Here are the best Boons for the Moonstone Axe in Hades 2.
The best Boons to improve the Moonstone Axe in Hades 2
There are two builds you can go with the Moonstone Axe in Hades 2, centering around both its Attack and Omega Attack. Its Special isn’t bad, but is more of a supporting ability than a primary source of damage. As for which of these two you should go with, it’ll depend heavily on the Daedalus Hammer choices you select.
If you want to do an Attack-based build, Hell Splitter is your best bet. This turns your primary attack into a slow-hitting slam that does 300 damage, making up for its slower attack speed.
If Omega Attack is more your thing, with its spin-to-win playstyle, then picking up either Psychic Whirlwind or Furious Whirlwind will prove invaluable. Psychic Whirlwind lets you perform dashes and various abilities while your Omega Attack is active, letting you dish out more damage or dodge otherwise deadly attacks. Otherwise, Furious Whirlwind causes your Omega Attack to channel and move much faster. More DPS is always a good thing.
Moving over to Boons, the best gods by far for the Moonstone Axe are Demeter and Zeus. Demeter synergizes incredibly well with the Hell Splitter Daedalus Hammer upgrade, since it’ll let you hit a follow-up attack should that initial burst of damage not prove enough. As such, we want Ice Strike for that initial freeze, and Cold Storage to cause those freeze effects to last much longer. If you’re going for an Omega Attack build, you should also snag Weed Killer to increase its damage at the cost of some Magic.
Meanwhile, Zeus is better equipped for the Omega Attack build since those continuous hits synergize very well with his ability to bounce lightning between many targets, including yourself with the right upgrade. If you want to go this route, take Heaven Strike, Storm Ring, Lightning Lance, and Electric Overload. These three Boons cause the Blitz effects to deal massive damage to both the main target and those around them. We also take the Cast abilities here since being able to apply more lightning at a distance is invaluable, especially when paired with the Psychic Whirlwind Daedalus Hammer upgrade mentioned earlier.
What other Boons are worth taking?
While Demeter and Zeus are almost always good choices, there are a few worthy choices from some of the other gods. The Extra Dose Boon from Apollo, for example, gives your Attacks a chance to hit twice, which is just a flat damage buff. Fluid Gain is also solid from Poseidon since it gives far more Magic gain, should you not have a good source of Magic regeneration already.
