What is a Legendary Core in Warframe?
A Legendary Core is technically a mod in Warframe that will upgrade a selected mod to its maximum level without cost. It’s a relic of the past.
Before we had the Endo system that we use today, we used to have to collect Fusion Cores. These would have different tiers and values, making them have different levels of potency when it comes to upgrading mods. The Legendary Core was the highest and most valuable tier of them.
With the mod upgrading system being consolidated into Endo, the only things that remained were the Legendary Cores.
How to get a Legendary Core
To get a Legendary Core, you have to complete the daily Sortie missions or the weekly Archon Hunts. Both activities give you a chance at getting this item, but drop chances are extremely rare. You have a 0.19% chance of getting a core after completing the final mission of these mission sets.
A Legendary Core can also be earned for every first completion of a Legendary Rank-up test. After reaching MR 30, every rank after it will become “Legendary”, starting back at 1.
You can also buy these from other players participating in the Trade Chat. Prices for these things tend to be around 100 to 150 Platinum. Most sell around the 125 mark.
Also, if buying a Core from another player, make sure you have 1,000,000 Credits to spend since these have a hefty trade tax. You’ll need more if there’s a trade tax in a Clan Dojo.
When to use a Legendary Core
To optimally use a Legendary Core, it’s best to use it on a Primed mod. Primed mods require the 40,920 Endo and 1,976,436 Credits to max out.
By using a Legendary Core, you will bypass the need to spend the steep price of Endo and Credits. The Primed mod will go from Unranked to maxed out. Make sure you use it on a mod that you’ll actually use so you can use it on a build you’re looking forward to playing.
