Electronic Arts has announced that it will ship Pandemic Studios’ The Saboteur to retail on December 8, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Taking place during the 1940s Nazi-occupation of France, The Saboteur is unique in both art, gameplay, and story — a revenge tale that takes place in the heart of a living city. Despite the fact that nearly everyone who has seen the game has walked away impressed (including us), it seems that The Saboteur is largely being ignored. It seems like a game that’s destined to quietly sneak out to the market, and then disappear with a quiet whimper.
EA shipping it after the major holiday rush of 2009, but before the holiday proper, is probably not going to help matters. I could be wrong — maybe the game will pick up huge buzz at San Diego Comic-Con this coming weekend. The Saboteur will be playable at EA’s show booth (#5231).
