Amid concerns around when Grand Theft Auto 6 could hit shelves, Rockstar Games reassured fans with an official release window.
During a Take-Two Interactive investor earnings call discussing future releases, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 6 will launch in the fall of 2025.
In December 2023, Rockstar Gave fans a first look at the upcoming title in an announcement trailer with a 2025 release date. However, in March, Kotaku reported that the title could be delayed to 2026 as development was allegedly falling behind. Those concerns were exacerbated when Rockstar Games reportedly asked employees to return to the office for five days a week, signaling something might have gone wrong in the development process.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who broke the story, acknowledged those concerns and claimed “employees are not thrilled” with Rockstar’s decision.
Even in light of those hiccups, the recent earnings call should help extinguish any concerns about a potential delay. However, we still only have one trailer to go on for any concrete information about the title. So besides a setting and a first-look at the protagonists, we still have much to learn about GTA 6 before the reported Fall 2025 release date.
