How to get the Veldt in Warframe

Shoots about as good as it looks.

Warframe Veldt

The way Mastery works in Warframe means you need to acquire and level every piece of gear in the game, whether you like that gear or not. Even if it’s the worst piece of gear in the entire game and does no damage to enemies, it needs to be brought to 30 if you want to upgrade your Mastery rank.

However, that does make dismantling that gear later all the sweeter. One such weapon is thankfully easy to get and isn’t necessarily the worst. Here’s how to get the Veldt in Warframe.

The Veldt’s blueprint is acquired through the Tenno Lab in any Dojo. To get into a Dojo and use the Tenno Lab, you’ll first need to join one and build a Clan Key. That Clan will also need to not only have a Tenno Lab but also have the Veldt researched. You can find Clans within the in-game Recruitment chat. Once you’ve met these requirements, head into their Tenno Lab and interact with the central console, then search for the Veldt and purchase its blueprint.

With the Veldt’s blueprint in hand, you’ll need the following materials to build it in your Orbiter’s Foundry:

  • 10x Morphics
  • 600x Cryotic
  • 7,250x Ferrite
  • 1x Forma

Once you have those materials, simply start building the Veldt and wait 12 hours for it to build. Once the time is up, the Veldt will be yours!

Is the Veldt worth using in Warframe?

The Veldt is a semi-automatic rifle that sports some good damage and accuracy but falls short in fire rate. It also has no alternate fire, instead replaced by an adjustable zoom for sniping. While that damage and accuracy is decent, the fire rate means this weapon outputs some pretty poor DPS. If you like the idea of a revolver rifle then go for it, but you’re likely going to be left disappointed.
