It’s time for a new Destiny 2 expansion with The Final Shape, and that means a lot of things for Bungie’s MMO. Beyond a new raid, story campaign to play through, and a host of errors, there’s plenty of new exotics to find and collect. That includes throwbacks to the original Destiny.
These are mostly new exotics that have completely new passives, but one exotic returns from its Destiny 1 grave. Here’s how to get the Red Death Reformed rifle in Destiny 2.
Where to get the Red Death Reformed rifle in Destiny 2
Red Death Reformed is earned through the first Season Pass of The Final Shape expansion. This can be found by opening the Director (where you see all the planets) and then clicking on Season Pass at the top. The Red Death is available for those who own the Season Pass at Rank 1, while those who are on the free track can get it at Rank 40. These rifles are identical, so you don’t technically need to claim the second Red Death Reformed.
However, there’s a good reason to do so for those who own the Season Pass. When claiming the Red Death Reformed, it’s given to you at your current Power level. If you claim the first Red Death Reformed so you can test it out and play around with it, you can claim the second Red Death Reformed when you’re at a much higher Power level to essentially get a free Upgrade Module.
Is the Red Death Reformed worth using?
The Red Death Reformed is a Pulse Rifle with the intrinsic trait Redemption. This trait causes final blows with the Red Death Reformed to cure you and increase reload speed. Reloading can then cure nearby allies. If you don’t already know, the cure status effect is a small heal. With all of this in mind, you’re likely to find more success with the Red Death Reformed in PvP over PvE but is worth trying in either mode.
