Wii charging stations recalled due to overheating issues

If you scorch your house or burn your hand while using the Psyclone Essentials and React Wii charging stations, rest assured it wasn’t user error. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and distributor Griffin International recently recalled the dock due to its unlisted warming feature.

In an official release picked up by GI.biz, the CPSC said that consumers have reported the device several times, two of those times in association with “minor” burns. Anyone who has the device should contact Griffin International to get a free replacement unit and preemptively avoid razzing by non-afflicted friends.

“Six incidents of overheating have been reported to the firm. Two consumers reported minor burns to the hand.”

“Consumers should immediately stop using these recharge stations and contact Griffin International to obtain information on how to return the product and receive a free replacement,” reads the CPSC release.
