Xbox Game Pass is a paid subscription service, which opens up access to a library of games that can be downloaded and played on Xbox consoles and PC. The subscription service allows a gamer to pay a monthly or annually charged subscription price and gain access to many games without having to buy these titles separately in order to play them.

How to cancel Xbox Game Pass on PC
Here’s how you can cancel the Game Pass subscription on PC:
- Open an internet browser and navigate to the official Microsoft website.
- Sign in to your Xbox account by choosing the sign-in button located at the top-right corner of the page.
- After signing in, click on your profile and choose My Microsoft Account and go to Services & subscriptions.
- Locate the Xbox Game Pass subscription and click Manage.
- Choose the Cancel Subscription button and you will be asked again to confirm the cancellation. Select Cancel Subscription once again, and your subscription will be removed from auto-renewal.
How to cancel Xbox Game Pass subscription on console
- Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button on your controller
- Press RB on the controller to navigate to the account tab.
- Choose Settings, then head to the Account tab, and choose Subscriptions.
- Select the Xbox Game Pass subscription, scroll down and select the option to Cancel Subscription.
- This will redirect you to a web page or alternatively, you can scan the QR code to open the web page on your phone.
- Once you are on the Microsoft page, you have to sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Once signed in, you will see your subscriptions. Scroll to Xbox Game Pass subscription and choose Manage.
- Now, select Cancel Subscription which will lead you to another page where you will be asked to confirm the cancellation. You can select Cancel Subscription once again, to confirm your decision.
Xbox Game Pass members can cancel their subscription at any point, which will stop any future charges but all Xbox Game Pass benefits including access to the game library will remain until the subscription period has not expired.
Since Xbox Game Pass subscription charges are incurred monthly or annually, cancelling the subscription in the middle of a month or a year will not immediately end your subscription and will not leave you without any benefits. Cancelling the subscription ensures that the gamer will not be charged again to continue the service. There are some regions (excluding the US and UK) where Microsoft offers an immediate end to the service and a prorated refund.
