Back at E3 2009, Sony unveiled its motion-detecting controllers. Looking a little like a dildo with a glowing sphere on top, it was promised that the controller could detect the full range of 3D motion and replicate movement nearly 1:1. And Sony isn’t kidding. In a tech video shown during the publisher’s press conference at gamescom it was stated that the controllers had sub-pixel accuracy.
The rest of the video stressed precision and showed the controller in a variety of 1:1 situations. It’s easy to guess what Wii peripheral (hint!) Sony is targeting with its early marketing to the press.
House said that the forthcoming motion controllers would be shown off again at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. We’ll be there and eager to play with them if we get the chance.
