I kinda want this TMNT: Smash Up Thermos more than the game

While it’s not a popular opinion, I’m not really a big fan of Super Smash Bros., and I realize that makes me some kind of weirdo in gaming communities. I was a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, however, dating back to the early 90s when I spent my days scrounging for money and redeeming empty soda cans for five cents a pop… just so I could buy the first edition of Eastman and Laird’s TMNT debut black and white comic.

But my dislike of Smash Bros. is getting in the way of me being excited about Ubisoft’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up. Designed by some of the folks that worked on Super Smash Bros. Brawl., the game looks like well… Super Smash Bros. Brawl. With Ninja Turtles.

But holy f*ck! A Thermos! If you reserve TMNT: Smash Up at GameCrazy, you get a limited edition collectors Thermos. I’m an adult, and one that doesn’t even have to leave his house to go to work. I have no real need for a Thermos. But the 11-year-old boy inside of me — the one who carried garbage bags full of empty soda cans to a Long Island Food Emporium to work his way towards a TMNT comic — may not not be able to resist.
