Another set of Fortnite weekly quests is live, and a challenging task to use Nitro Splash in a vehicle is among your options. While getting Nitro Splash and finding a car is simple, figuring out the combination of actions to get inside and use the item is where the real difficulty begins.
How to use Nitro Splash in a vehicle in Fortnite
Using Nitro Splash in a vehicle requires getting your hands on the Nitro Splash item, hopping into a car, and switching over to the passenger side. Since the driver controls the vehicle, you can’t use any items unless you switch to the passenger side. Being in the other seat lets you use weapons and items, but you won’t be able to control the car from here.
Once you find a car and enter the driver’s seat, you can swap over using the left Ctrl key on your keyboard or your console equivalent. You’ll spot the switch seat controls on the left side of your screen, along with those for exiting the car, driving, and using turrets if your vehicle has one. Otherwise, you can just swap over, hold your Nitro Splash, and use it to complete your weekly quest.
How to get and use Nitro Splash in Fortnite
Nitro Splash is a rare-quality item found in chest and floor loots or drops from other players. While you may occasionally obtain it as an elimination drop from a player, your best bet is to watch for it on the floor or in chests, especially in named landmarks. You’ll know you’ve found it when it appears as a blue-grade bottle of orange liquid.
Once you have your Nitro Splash, you can use it like a shield potion or other consumables. Outside of vehicles, Nitro Splash temporarily gives you a speed boost and infinite stamina. For cars, it acts like boost hoops and nitro barrels to boost its driving speed.
How to find a vehicle in Fortnite
Vehicles spawn all over Fortnite’s map, most commonly spawning around major landmarks or gas stations. Although you can find them along roads, your best bet is to visit a named location or gas station like the ones around Rebel’s Roost, as these have higher odds of spawning multiple. Alternatively, you can wait for a player driving a car to appear and take theirs.
Most named locations have at least one or two cars around but are prime spots for other players to appear and attack you, making stations a safer option. The only downside to gas stations is they have fewer chest spawns than landmarks, so you’ll have a harder time finding powerful weapons, shield potions, or medkits to help you during the rest of the match.
