A cop in china: Spike teases another unannounced game

The Spike Video Game Awards are quickly becoming the place to catch world premiere trailers and videogame reveals. That was Geoff Keighley’s goal, and he seems to be making good on his promises.

Spike has revealed this mystery trailer for an unannounced game, which features an undercover cop in China, throwing his badge off a roof. Because he couldn’t have just left it in America or something. Not smart.

So what could the title be? The Super Google-er over at superannuation seems to think the title is Black Lotus, a game which was previously in development with Treyarch before it was shelved. (Lots of Call of Duty games to make, you know.) While at United Front Games (ModNation Racers) in Vancouver a few weeks back, I was kept away from a secret wing where the team was working on an unannounced Activision title. The plot, it thickens.

When it was in development at Treyarch, Black Lotus was said to be a Grand Theft Auto-style game set in China. What the game has become — if these guesses are correct — remains to be seen. The Spike VGAs air on December 12. You’ll be watching to find out, right?
