Starting this Sunday, April 25th, Xbox Live Gold users will be able to watch the first two episodes of “Bright Falls,” a live-action series which sets up the events of Remedy’s upcoming psychological thriller, Alan Wake. Episodes will then be released weekly until the finale on May 17th, which is right before the game comes out. What an amazing coincidence.
People who don’t have Gold accounts aren’t going to be shut out in the cold. The videos will be released a day later for all Live users and will then be posted to brightfalls.com the day after that for the web to consume as a whole.
This is a good idea. As much as I tend to prefer going into a new setting cold, Alan Wake seems to have a lot going on and I wouldn’t mind getting a little bit of background into the town of Bright Falls before I have to live there. Plus, the whole thing reminds me of Twin Peaks and that’s never, ever a bad thing.
