‘Undercover Cop’ adds extra tension to Kane & Lynch 2

So it’s bad enough that you have to worry about people betraying you in Kane & Lynch 2. That worry amps up when you go into “Undercover Cop” mode. The gametype plays out just like “Fragile Alliance” with the addition of the randomly chosen undercover cop that’s infiltrated the group.

The undercover has to stop everyone from escaping while acting like he’s part of the team. As the criminals are doing their thing, the cop needs to find a way to pick off the others one-by-one in order to earn reward money. The cop won’t be outed by the game for killing anyone and the other players have to actually see the cop kill their teammates in order to figure out who the snake is.

The cop has to wait for the criminals to commit a crime before being allowed to kill them, otherwise he’ll fail the mission. NPC cops won’t shoot at the undercover either, which is good and bad depending on what the cop’s position is relative to the group.

There’s definitely an bigger element of fear when it comes to “Undercover Cop.” While you have to worry about the cop, there are also those six other players that could shotgun you right in the back at any moment. If you had enough time, I’m sure this mode would just fall apart. Since you have only four minutes though, “Undercover Cop” actually works out, so long as the undercover doesn’t get trigger happy at the very start of a round.
