Silhouettes of the Pokemon Black/White starters revealed

Recommended Videos

Every time a new Pokemon game comes out, people freak over the starters. They’re never universally accepted, garnering a lot of “That one looks too much like a (blank) crossed with a (blank), and therefore, it sucks and I hate it.”  and “Oh come on, a (fire/water/grass)-type (monkey/crocodile/turtle/lizard/mole/shmoo-thing)? THAT’S STUPID!”, as if whatever they’re complaining about is any less “stupid” than the hundreds of other Pokemon they’ve already grown to love. That’s how people reacted from Pokemon Silver/Gold on out, and I’m sure that’s what will happen with Pokemon Black/White.

While we’re already predicting the future, lets start speculating on who or what these three little bastards are. On the left, I see a fire-type lizard-dog, in the middle I see a grass-type pig-kitten, and on the right I see a water-type Bidoof/Squirtle-hybrid. You have less than a week to make your own guesses, as these starters are to be fully revealed in the next issue of Coro Coro in Japan, which hits stands on May 15th.

If you’re planning on calling these out as “FAKE!”, watch their reveal on Pokemon Sunday yourself. It happens at around the six minute mark, and unfortunately, the video has yet to be subtitled by Genki-Jam. Get on that, Genki. Make the world a better place.
