This is a weird situation to be in. My copy of Alan Wake hasn’t arrived yet — top men assure me it’s “in the mail” — and it’s difficult for me to talk about the impending downloadable content for the game since it delves into ending-revealing territory.
On top of the already announced add-ons “The Signal” and “The Writer,” MTV Multiplayer has found out from Remedy’s Matias Myllyrinne that a third piece of content is “coming later on this year.” For those of you who beat the game, this discussion also includes spoilery talk about some of the DLC.
Knowing full well Alan Wake ends on a cliffhanger, I can say that I do find it interesting to see this type of post-ending story expansion, since it’s not something we’ve really seen a whole lot of before. Oh, and I’m so not reading the comments to this post. I learned my lesson with BioShock, thank you very much.
‘Alan Wake’ DLC Pack #3 Planned For ‘Later On This Year’ [MTV Multiplayer]
[Update: Apparently when Myllyrinne mentioned another pack coming out this year, he was merely referring to “The Writer,” not a third add-on.
MikkiRMD from Remedy says “it’s not inconceivable that there could be more than just two — that’ll probably have a lot to do with how the first two do, among other things — but let me reiterate we’re not working on anything like that right now.” Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Stevil.]
