When Nintendo talked about the 3DS’ “ghost data exchange and expanded local and wireless mulitplayer options,” Mario Kart is what they had in mind — the game will utilize these features, as you would probably expect.
Few other details are known at this point, but do we even need anything else to go on? More Mario Kart, guys! And it’s in 3D! OMG! As with previously mentioned 3DS titles Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, and Kid Icarus: Uprising, sadly, Mario Kart won’t be playable at E3; everything with these is hands off.
On the bright side, four Nintendo-developed 3DS games — in addition to whatever the third party guys have — will be playable: Star Fox 64 3D, PilotWings Resort, Steel Diver, and Nintendogs + Cats. I for one am dying to hear what our team at E3 thinks. I think Chad might be crying tears of joy.
