Dead Rising 2‘s standalone, downloadable prologue Case Zero is going to cost a mere five bucks when it becomes available on Xbox LIVE starting August 31.
Even though this is a smart move by Capcom, and totally the right way to go, I can’t help but feel a little shocked by the value pricing. Case Zero intends to bridge the gap between the original game and Dead Rising 2, in addition to building interest in those who don’t necessarily follow the series.
At such a low barrier to entry, mission accomplished, I’d say. Let’s hope other developers price their download-only prequels similarly. Yes, I’m referring to you, Dead Space Ignition.
