Tecmo Koei has today announced that a fully online-capable version of its venerable Dynasty Warriors series, Dynasty Warriors Online, is coming to North America and Europe. The free-to-play online title combines familiar hack n’ slash gameplay with an MMO setting, and it will probably be awesome.
Dynasty Warriors Online began life in 2007 on the PC, but it has never left Japan. The game was announced for the PS3 last year, but no word of a Western release was given. No release date has yet been revealed, but closed beta testing is set to being soon, and news should be on the horizon.
As a Dynasty Warriors fan, I am very excited. Online army-based hack n’ slash is just what this series needs more of, and I can’t wait to try it out. So Koei … how do we get in on this beta?
