This month in the forums, people mock collectors editions with vegetables (or are they fruit?), manly men flaunt their beards, the Cinema opens for movie ratings and discussion, and sometimes we talk about games.
It was a bit of a slow month actually, what with PAX fever taking up the majority of the first few weeks, then consars immediately following. Still, if you haven’t been to the forums lately, here’s what you’ve been missing.
When Jim Sterling used his copy of Halo: Reach to display his amazing jar of Ragu, some forum folks decided they wanted in on the fun. Thus the Tomato Products on Collectors Editions thread was born.
The great Septembeard challenge has wrapped up and everyone is feeling supremely manly and unshaven after their involvement.
Cartoon God, Mikey visited the Golden Gate Bridge in San Franciso, but found it lacking. This prompted our first, but not last, sighting of Sad Mikey. (Cheer up kid, you’re internet famous now).
It’s a well known fact that forum members are better people, but it turns out we’re also creative people. This month the Creativity Thread showcased some of the diverse talent of a handful of forum goers. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of that artsy fartsy stuff.
Speaking of the forums being better people, another wave of Legendary Dtoider Badges went through. Congrats to all the new folks who are proudly wearing the fruity unicorns.
Our new buddy Chuck Bittner, the quadriplegic gamer, stopped by and told us all about his petition to make console game buttons customizable and therefore more accessible. Movie buffs take note, “The Theater” thread and the “Rate the Last Movie you Saw” thread have been merged into The Cinema for all your film discussion and rating needs.
The Let’s Hope There’s a Heaven movie podcast finally had a proper launch and was welcomed with a new badge.
– LHTAH badge.
The Alcoholocast is also a thing that happened. I think it’s something to do with Jewish Beer, but I’m not entirely certain.
– Alcoholocast Badge
Over in our Games Discussion section (because sometimes we remember that we’re a gaming site) we started speculating why this month was going to be an amazing time for RPG fans. Some people like Scrabble and we contemplate how to make games based on movies not suck.
Apparently, football is a thing that is happening and people like to talk about it. If you like to talk about it you should head to the College Football thread and make a nuisance of yourself.
Finally, with the Halloween season in full swing the zombie loving hordes of the forum are all worked up for The Walking Dead TV series. Check it out and find out how you can better prepare for your inevitable fate when the zombie apocalypse begins.
As far as I know that about wraps up the forum recap for this month. Be sure to call me a liar and point out all the awesome things I missed in the comment section below. Thanks as always to my lovely forum team for helping me keep the duct tape in place for yet another month before the new forums come and make all our lives better, and more sexy.
