Nyko had several new controller and accessory options to show us here at CES. Most were upgrades or refinements to existing products, but we also saw a few new things that may interest you.
Remember the Perfect Shot gun controller? They upgraded that with vibration feedback that triggers when you pull the…trigger. They call it the Perfect Shot Pro. We tried it out: It gives a nice little kickback effect when you fire.
There’s several new options for your skinny new PS3 Slim. The new Core Controller has a good hand feel, nice buttons and proper (and grippable) L2 and R2 triggers, and will sell for only $19.99. Nice. The new Media Hub Slim takes two USB ports and gives you two more, a SD card reader, and an IR sensor for a handy little media remote. There’s also a new vertical stand for your Slim so that you may stand it on end.
Among the new Xbox 360 options was a new headset called the Speaker Com. This is both a headset and a speaker phone option. Stick the ear buds in your ear (no headband) and a speaker/mic unit dangles around your neck. Switch it to speaker and everyone around you can hear what’s going on. The earbuds have magnets in them so that they can be clipped together and worn when you’re not listening in. A large button on the plug lets you mute without taking your hands off the controller.
