Don’t expect too much raw Theremin or Eigenharp action in Mass Effect 2. Jack Wall is returning to his role as composer for the series’ follow-up game.
BioWare and EA made it official earlier last afternoon, announcing that Wall will resume his musical work where the last game left off. The official word is that the soundtrack will feature almost three hours of music, the kind in which should excite those familiar with the first game’s soundtrack. (Nerds.)
Wall’s work is great — the original ME soundtrack is the only I’ve ever bothered to purchase, and it looks like ME2’s will be offered as a download as well. Soon. According to the press release, the ME2 soundtrack will hit “digital retailers” on January 19, 2010. Nice.
