The Game Developers Conference is probably one of my favorite events of the year. There is a hum in the air as people are talking about gaming both on an individual title basis as well as in the broader context of our lives. If you like to think and you like games, there’s really no better place to be.
But if you couldn’t be there, all is not lost. The GDC Vault offers all of the events sessions in video and audio format for people who subscribe to the service each year. It’s a bit pricey, though, which is why I’m thrilled to see so much excellent content being offered for free from the vault. You can watch all of the Classic Game Postmortem sessions (I watched Ron Gilbert talk about Maniac Mansion and it was delightful) as well as get access to some of the sharpest minds in gaming through a variety of other panels.
Go check out the GDC Vault and enjoy some really interesting ideas.
