E3 has just ended, but we’re already running at top speed at the next big gaming conference, the Tokyo Game Show. Destructoid will be there covering it, and it sounds like we’re going to be bringing you some epic news about a Hideo Kojima PS3 exclusive that “will own the show.”
This comes via CVG through an unnamed source they talked to during E3. They say the source is a senior U.S. publisher who would know about these kinds of things. Details are very scant, but the game is reportedly set to be published by Konami (duh) and Kojima wanted to show the game off at E3, but decided it wasn’t polished enough and that moving the reveal to TGS in September would make the demo “bulletproof.”
This is officially just a rumor, though. Shortly after the story was posted Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, Kojima’s production boss, tweeted, “I say it is just a rumour. I have no idea who made it up such a story.” Typos/bad grammar aside, this isn’t a flat out denial, but it does mean that many grains of salt should be taken with this story.
However, Kojima is all about the major teases. I’m not quite sure there’s been a recent time span long enough to care about where he hasn’t been teasing us with a new game or something cryptic. With that in mind I must once again ask, what the hell is Kojima bringing us if it is anything at all?
