Insomniac would back Ratchet & Clank HD remakes

God of War. Sly Cooper. Both Sony franchises that have gotten the high definition makeover treatment. With Sony’s “Classics HD” branding and its talking heads already saying they’d like to see more, it’s not likely to stop there.

Sony has a nice cache of franchises to dig into, among them, Insmoniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank. While Insomniac is all about it, it’s not likely the studio would be involved in bringing its older titles into the high definition era.

“We won’t make it,” it said on its official Twitter account, “but we’d support Sony if they decided to do it!”

It seems obvious that a developer would love to see its older titles “remasters” for a new generation, but wouldn’t want to take resources away from its current projects (including a new IP for EA Partners, and the rumored Resistance 3). It also would follow up how Sony had previous collections ported — the God of War Collection was handled by Bluepoint Games, and the upcoming Sly Collection by Sanzaru Games.

We’ve already heard your cries for a Team ICO collection, and you’d be foolish not to want to see Ratchet and Clank classics remastered. But what else would you like to see? Might I submit my vote for Mark of Kri?
