Capcom has announced what Japanese gamers have to look forward to if they’re early purchasers of Dead Rising 2. The first enticement are replicas of cards Chuck collects in the game which offer inspiration for weapon combinations. The full set consists of thirty-one cards, each with their own recipe which can be applied in the game, and buyers will get three of these pieces of colored paper to call their very own.
If that’s not enough to sway folks, a bit of additional content usually paves the way. A piece of downloadable content called “Paradise Pack (Psycho)” has been announced as a pre-order bonus but its contents remain a mystery. Capcom has stated that this content will later be available to everyone for a fee.
I couldn’t care less about missing out the cards, as I have enough clutter in my house already and all the combinations will no doubt be on the internet within a few days of release. The DLC, if we get it in the US, does appeal to my interests but I suspect its value will be little more than aesthetic. Lord knows how much they loved releasing clothing items in the first game and I expect this one to be no different.
If I’m going to go out of my way to get clothing in Dead Rising 2, I’m much more attracted to being a ninja.
