Bethesda has detailed The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim for PC gamers and they will be pleased to learn that the good times are back again! The only disappointment is the lack of a 64-bit version of the game, but other than that, PC gamers are getting what they want.
First of all, Bethesda’s promised “Higher res textures, larger render modes” and “a bunch of other effects,” which you can take to mean that the game will appear significantly more gorgeous on your computer than your console. “Power user” options for keyboard controls will be in place, which probably means advanced control customization — something oddly lacking from several high-profile PC games lately.
“The whole interface is much less ‘look at giant fonts!’ than, say, Oblivion,” says Skyrim overlord Todd Howard when boasting about the games fluid and deep menu system.
Finally, we already knew it, but let’s reiterate that mod tools will be in place, so those looking to tinker with the game’s innards and come up with new stuff will be fully supported. Kick-ass!
