The Japanese version of Saints Row: The Third is going to be slightly censored after authorities expressed concern over the “Penetrator” melee weapon. For those not up on their innuendo, the penetrator is the giant purple dildo that flops around with its own set of physics.
In Japan, it won’t flop around, nor will it be as veiny as once it was. The gigantic yogurt-slinger will still feature in the game, but its physics have been removed and it’ll be as smooth as a baby’s shaft. Ironically, this will cause the penis to be quite erect, something which is usually more subject to censorship.
It’s amazing what Japan will allow and what it will censor. Not that we can judge — we too live in a country where brutal murder is considered more wholesome entertainment than images of genitals — things almost all of us will interact with in real life on a far more regular basis.
