Bit.Trip RUNNER hits Steam tomorrow with new features

It’s a Bit.Trip f*cking overload! The final game in the series, Bit.Trip FLUX, hits WiiWare tomorrow, while the most beloved game in the series, Bit.Trip RUNNER, is hitting Steam for Mac/PC. According to the attached press release, the Steam edition of the game will have leaderboards, HD graphics, and ALL NEW DIFFICULTY LEVELS.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m freaking out over that last bit. Adding new difficulty levels to a game like RUNNER is effectively giving you a new version of the game. At least, that’s what I’m imagining. I guess I’ll find out myself when the game hits tomorrow.

Bit.Trip RUNNER is one of my favorite games ever. If you like challenging-but-encouraging platformers, rhythm action games, or videogames in general, I implore you to check it out.

For immediate release:

The IGF Award-Nominated WiiWare game BIT.TRIP RUNNER will be available for PC/OSX via the Steam service tomorrow!
New features for the Steam version include:
  • HD graphics
  • Online Leaderboards
  • Achievements
  • New Difficulty Modes
Whether you’ve played RUNNER before or not, this version is definitely worth plugging your eyes into.  Whether playing it with an Xbox 360 controller, a Wii Remote via Bluetooth, or with the keyboard, RUNNER will invade your soul and confound your senses.
