The Guitar Hero III mono sound issue earned many a Wii owner’s ire last year, and rightfully so — it’s pretty tough to rock out when your game’s sound resembles a grilled cheese sandwich run over by an angry teen on a Moped. Activision was quick to announce a disc replacement service, but it seems that didn’t keep people from dissatisfaction (better known as talking sh*t all over the interwebs.)
Sensing that more action was needed, Activision has announced that now you can march your copy of GH III right back to the source and get a refund. Here’s the word-for-word from Activision’s website:
We are committed to providing our customers with quality game experiences and apologize for any audio output issues you may have experienced with the Wii version of Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock. Activision has worked with Nintendo to re-master the game and provide a replacement disc to consumers with Dolby digital surround sound and other consumers experiencing audio issues. If you wish to receive a full refund on your purchase price instead of a replacement disc, please click here and download the refund form, which outlines our refund requirements.
However, if you wish to receive a replacement disc for the Wii version of Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock instead of a refund, please click here.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support and patience.
Maybe now the complaining will die down, although knowing the general maturity level of the internet, there’s sure to be some doom and gloomers still bitching that Activision should have done the job right in the first place. Does this new fix satisfy you? Or did you know better than to buy a Wii in the first place?
