Fresh gameplay from Back in the Groove
You were aware that a new ToeJam & Earl game is currently in production, right?
If not, I’m happy to be the bearer of good news. Series co-creator Greg Johnson took to Kickstarter last year to crowdfund ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove, “a mash-up of the very best features from the classic console games (that’s one and two, y’all), with a pile of new features thrown in.”
Fans of the funky Sega Genesis roguelike original came through because the people who love ToeJam & Earl love the sweet heck out of it. Development was able to move forward, and now here we are with proper gameplay footage. Also, Adult Swim Games has signed on to publish the title. Naturally.
If you want to be technical, this isn’t our very first look at the game in motion — there was some rough prototype footage to go along with the then-active Kickstarter — but this trailer is far more representative of what Back in the Groove will look like next year on PC and consoles.
To the Hyperfunk Zone we go.
