Adventure Time meets Super Mario Bros. 2… again

Do you guys remember .Tiff? She used to write for the site. I miss her a lot.

She was the first person to show me how perfectly Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time! and Super Mario Bros. 2 fit together. Ever since I first saw this image (and the promo that followed it), I’ve wanted to play a full-fledged game based in the Adventure Time! universe. Seeing this more detailed sprite sheet (created by the mysterious Adventure Time! Art tumblr contributor IT) only makes my hunger for a Adventure Time! game more intense.

In case you can’t tell, the show means a lot to me. For most of my life, I’ve been waiting for the day when the children who were brought up on videogames would grow up and spread videogame logic to other forms of entertainment. With the release of the Scott Pilgrim comic/movie and shows like Adventure Time!, I feel like that day has finally come.

Some would say it’s too much inbreeding for Adventure Time!, a show that’s pretty much just a non-playable videogame, to get a videogame adaptation. All I can say is, that inbreeding seems to be working just fine for the Scott Pilgrim game. I think a game would work just as well for Adventure Time! (especially if you got Paul Robertson involved.)

Not every child of game-on-movie-game turns out like Street Fighter: The Movie Game (HuuuuuOUUGH!).
