Publisher confirms the shame is still coming
In the fallout of the Aliens: Colonial Marines controversy, fact and fiction are difficult to separate. SEGA has, at least, put paid to one of the not-so-true suggestions, denying rumors that the Wii U version has been “postponed indefinitely,” and more likely scrapped.
“It’s not true,” a SEGA UK rep told Eurogamer. “We haven’t announced the release date for it yet but that’s it.”
Kotaku’s Jason Schreier revealed that he’d been first told of an “indefinite” delay, an idea later backed up by the removal of the Wii U version’s listing on Amazon.
Of course, with SEGA saying it hasn’t announced a date, it’s given itself a lot of leeway. It still could push back the date indefinitely while claiming it never told us what that date was. Nevertheless, March was the projected launch month, so we’ll just have to wait and see if it hits that window.
