Ancestor Skills in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are useful upgrades for your Na’vi warrior, but you need to track them all down if you want to be at your best when facing off against the RDA. For that, we can show you how to find all the Ancestor Skill locations in Avatar: FoP.
There are 12 Ancestor Skills in total. The first one, Air Boost, is given to you as part of the game’s story. Once that’s completed you’re on your own to discover the rest. Many can be seen from the in-game map as columns of pink light. However, the map doesn’t reveal everything.
The majority of skills cannot be acquired until you get your ikran mount. Many are in high-up places, such as mountains, and scaling them on foot would be impossible. There are also a couple that require a bit of exploration to find.
Check out the maps below. We have location information and the effect of each skill listed by area.
All Kinglor Forest Ancestor Skills
Skill Name | Location | Effect |
---|---|---|
Air Boost | Earned as part of the story campaign. At the bottom of Dyer’s Bowl in the Spinner’s Circle area. | Pressing jump again while airborne lets you extend in-air distance. |
Drop Impact | On a floating rock in the Boundless Range. | Cause more damage/stagger effect by melee attacking enemies from the air. |
Soft Landing | In the middle of Gossamer Lakes. | Pressing ‘crouch’ just before landing will reduce fall damage by half. |
Deeper Connection | It’s just north of a level-20 RDA facility, but you’ll need to clear the pollution first. | Increases the stamina of your ikran. |
Eject | Along the Threaded River, southeast of Hometree. | You can pull an RDA enemy from their AMP suit by using melee on them when they’re in a “distressed state.” |
It’s not too hard to find all the Ancestor Skills in the Kinglor Forest. The most difficult one that you’ll likely have to get is ‘Deeper Connection’. I believe you must clear the pollution created by Laser Ore Processor Alpha RDA Base before it’s accessible. Keep in mind that you should be around level 20 before taking on the base. It’s surrounded by anti-air turrets, so you’ll need to leave your ikran behind and go on foot. This won’t be an easy fight, and you’ll likely be unable to take it down until late in the game.
All Upper Plains Ancestor Skills
Skill Name | Location | Effect |
---|---|---|
Way of the Diplomat | In a large, cavernous opening on the side of the Great Tusk mountain. | Earn additional favor by completing quests and activities. |
Screech Ability | On a floating island in the center of the Step’s Cradle area. | Lets you teach your ikran to use a “piercing screech” to disorient small enemies. |
Reconnaissance | Near the Shattered Bridge area, northeast of the Great Tusk mountain. | Lets you track the patrol paths of RDA units. |
Wing Gust | On top of Toruk’s Peak in the Eywa’s Reach area. | Use your ikran to damage and disorient enemies with her wings. |
Ghost Strike | In a cave on top of the First Zakru monolith. | Deal an additional 30% stealth damage. |
Four out of the five total Ancestor Skills in the Upper Plains require you to have the ikran in order to reach them. ‘Ghost Strike’ stands out as the most difficult to find in the area, but luckily we have a guide that can help out.
All Clouded Forest Ancestor Skills
Skill Name | Location | Effect |
---|---|---|
Tarsyu Network | In the center of a lake on top of the Crying Giant mountain in the Cascading Stones area. | Interacting with a tarsyu sapling will reveal another sapling location. |
Free fast travel | In a cave that burrows deep into The Grasping Mountain southeast of the Crying Giant. | Fast travel no longer uses energy. |
Like with the Ghost Strike skill, there is one Ancestor Skill in the Clouded Forest that can be a pain to find. The ‘Free fast travel’ skill is hiding in a cave on the side of The Grasping Mountain. Be sure to check out our guide on how to easily track it down.
That just about covers all Ancestor Skills in Avatar: FoP. While you’re at it, check out our extensive guides on how to change your appearance, increase your health item slots, and more.
