Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is here, and as has become the case with most AAA game releases these days, there’s more than one version of the game to buy. Here’s a breakdown of the various editions of the game.
What comes in each edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?
There are four versions of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to choose from:
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Collector’s Edition
Pictured above, the collector’s edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an impressive set. It comes with a 35 cm statue of the game’s Na’vi hero, as well as a bunch of other physical goodies.
Besides the headline-stealing statue, you also get the following:
- A physical copy of the Ultimate Edition of the game, with a steelbook.
- 128-page art book featuring art from the game.
- An A2 blueprint of the AMP suit seen in the movies and game.
- Three lithographs of Pandora.
- A resistance field notebook.
- Certificate of authenticity.
The collector’s edition of the game will set you back $229.99 if you can find it. At the time of writing, it’s currently out of stock on all platforms in the US. The Collector’s Edition is exclusive to GameStop in the US and other retailers such as Game (where it’s still available) in the UK and Micromania (also sold out) in France. Check which retailer has the Collector’s Edition where you are on the official Ubisoft website.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora comes with the base game, the season pass, the Ultimate Pack, and a digital art book.
The art book and Ultimate Pack are exclusive to this version of the game. The digital art book, as the name suggests, is an art book that is only available digitally, i.e. on your gaming platform of choice. It contains art from the game that you can look at whenever you like.
The Ultimate Pack contains the Sarentu Heritage Cosmetic Pack and the Sarentu Hunter Equipment Pack. The cosmetic pack comes with a Na’vi weapon skin and cosmetic sets for both your character and banshee mount.
Meanwhile, the Hun ter Equipment Pack provides you with a unique weapon and a character gear set.
The Ultimate Editon of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora costs $129.99 on each platform at launch. It’s also the version of the game that comes with Ubisoft’s subscription service, Ubisoft+, which starts at $14.99 per month.
Read on to see what’s in the season pass, which comes with the Gold Edition of the game, too.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Gold Edition
If you’re not interested in the art book and Ultimate Pack that are exclusive to the Ultimate Edition of the game, but you do want the season pass, then the Gold Edition is for you.
The season pass comes with two story packs, a bonus quest, and a banshee cosmetic set. The two story packs are the main course here.
The first story pack, The Sky Breaker, has a release window of summer 2024. It takes place at the Na’vi great festival of games as the RDA threatens the celebrations.
The second pack, Secrets of the Spires, is scheduled for launch in fall 2024. It will feature aerial combat on the banshee mounts and introduce a new canyon region to the game.
The Gold Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available for $109.99 on all platforms at launch. There’s currently no way to purchase the season pass separately, so no word on pricing there, but look out for that post-launch if you don’t want to pay for it upfront.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora doesn’t come with anything extra if you’re playing the game on PC or Xbox. That is unless you were to pre-order it. For those who pre-order any version of the game on any platform, there’s a bonus Child of Two Worlds Pack, which comes with a character cosmetic set and a weapon skin. However, if you’re reading this post-launch, it’s already too late to get the bonus pack.
PlayStation gamers do receive a small exclusive add-on. The Aranahe Warrior Pack comes with the PS5 version of the game even after launch. It contains a character cosmetic set and a weapon cosmetic set from the Aranahe clan of Na’vi. The pack items are automatically available in the inventory of PlayStation players.
On release, the Standard Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora costs $69.99 on all platforms.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Amazon Luna on December 7, 2023.
