Cyberpunk 2077 came out in 2020 with the anime spinoff, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, releasing in 2022. It’s clear that the team in charge of the anime had a deep fondness for the game and put a ton of references into the show. Now, there are plenty of Cyberpunk easter eggs and items from Edgerunners scattered about 2077, and the 2.0 update added a few more, but this list is more about sightseeing and the more subtle nods. Let’s dig in.
Episode 1: Let You Down
Cyberpsycho Shootout in Corpo Plaza
The anime opens with a fully-chromed cyberpsycho taking on the NCPD and its MaxTac division in Corpo Plaza.
David’s Apartment
David’s Apartment is found in Santo Domingo, which is part of the Arroyo District. Also curious is that while they’re in different locations, David and V’s apartments share an identical layout. Perhaps the same design was tapped for both megabuildings?
David’s Walk to the Metro
From his apartment, David walks to the Wollesen St Metro to catch the train to school.
Shootout on the Highway
After being picked up from school, David and his mother are caught in a shootout on the highway. I’m still of the opinion that had she just hit the brakes, this entire mess could have been avoided.
The Hospital
You can follow David’s story to the hospital in Rancho Coronado, where his mother was being cared for. Head up to the second floor to relive the shot from the series.
David’s Ripper Doc
The Ripper Doc shop where David went is located in Santo Domingo of the Arroyo District. The original doctor has since vacated, but you can stand where he once stood.
Episode 2: Like A Boy
Lucy Saves David
Following a daring rescue, Lucy is able to bring David’s stretcher to a halt at a scenic intersection.
Lucy’s Apartment
Just across the street from the Turbo Bar in Japantown, Westbrook is Lucy’s apartment. Look for the sign that says “Minnie Day’s.” V can head to the roof to take in the beauty of Night City.
Episode 3: Smooth Criminal
Maine’s Chop Shop (Aldo’s)
Maine’s haunt, the Chop Shop, is located in Rancho Coronado’s Santo Domingo, with the closest fast travel spot being San Amaro St. The main building has lost a story. Still, everything else around the area lines up.
Jacked and Coke Bar
When Maine and his crew are pulling a job on an Arasaka driver, things go a little sideways. Despite this, V can visit the bar in Vista Del Rey, Heywood.
Chase on the Highway
With the driver chasing them, David and Lucy try to make a getaway. Unfortunately for them, the Tyger Claws are in hot pursuit.
Turbo Bar
The next stop on this sight-seeing tour is where David and his crew would celebrate after a gig, the Turbo Bar. Located in Japantown’s Westbrook District, players can reach it via the MegaBuilding HB fast travel point.
Episode 4: Lucky You
Afterlife Club
Everyone who’s played Cyberpunk 2077 knows that all roads lead to the Afterlife. Run by Johnny Silverhand’s former love, Rogue Amendiares, it’s a hub for fixers and mercs.
Rogue Amendiares
Rogue briefly makes an appearance after David sneaks Rebecca in. It seems the proprietor of the establishment doesn’t much mind their shenanigans.
Claire Russell
Claire Russell, the local bar hand, can be seen in a quick panning shot tending bar. Make sure to introduce yourself for one hell of a side quest.
The Hills of North Oak, Westbrook
At the beginning of the episode, Maine and Dorio are making plans for an upcoming gig. A couple of the shots show us the winding roads of North Oak, Westbrook.
Pilar and Rebecca’s Apartment
Rebecca, the best member of David’s crew, resided in Watson as well. The closest fast travel point will be Longshore North. Once there, you’ll see a three-story building with a billboard atop it. Head inside and go to the second floor. Look for a door with an access panel on the left side.
Much like Kiwi’s place, time has moved on since Edgerunners. Rebecca’s apartment now belongs to Aaron and can be explored after completing the Scrolls Before Swine gig, so long as V gets Aaron to fight them.
David has the Package
As part of David’s training montage, he has a package to deliver to Pilar. Just before passing some NCPD officers, we get this pretty shot of the badlands behind him.
The Jogging Area
Those looking for an emotionally poignant moment can head down to the waterfront where David and Lucy would jog. Why would you need to jog when you’re mostly chrome? I have no idea.
Lizzie’s Bar
Lizzie’s Bar is a bit rougher than the Afterlife, but that doesn’t stop David, Pilar, and Falco from enjoying themselves.
Pilar’s Demise
Back on the home turf of Maine’s gang, the group encounters an odd man muttering to himself. Just when things were looking up, reality brought it all crashing back down.
Episode 5: All Eyez On Me
Delamain
Delamain and its luxury escort services are available to anyone willing to pay. We briefly see the AI driving Tanaka. Delamain’s series of quests are some of the more entertaining ones in Cyberpunk 2077. I strongly encourage you to check them out.
Jimmy Kurosaki’s Lab
Maine and the crew track down David’s abductor, Jimmy Kurosaki, to this lab. It’s here that things really start heating up for them.
Episode 6: Girl on Fire
Maine’s Last Stand
Once you start putting chrome in your body, it’s only so long before cyber psychosis sets in. Several members of the gang fall here. Oddly enough, it appears to be the same building that V and Jackie rescue a victim in during one of their first gigs.
Episode 7: Stronger
Totentanz Bar
Another reused spot is the Totentanz bar, where both David and V have to deal with the Maelstrom gang.
Wakako Okada
Though we don’t actually see Wakako in Edgerunners, she shows up as one of David’s fixers towards the end of the series.
David and Lucy’s Home
Okay, the overlaps between David and V’s lives are getting a little ridiculous at this point. Should V unlock the secret ending of the game, they’ll be able to purchase the former home of David and Lucy. Just make sure to disinfect the couch before sitting down.
Episode 8: Stay
David’s Cyberpsychosis
With David now running the crew, they’re taking on increasingly dangerous gigs. While infiltrating Arasaka tower, David deals with his first bout of cyber psychosis. This lab can be found if V manages to sneak inside the tower.
Tom’s Diner
If you want to have top-secret meetings in Night City, Tom’s Diner is the place to go.
Kiwi’s Apartment
Netrunner Kiwi called the Yaiba building in Watson home. Players should recognize it as the current operations center for the fixer Regina.
David and Rebecca Battle the Animals
David and Rebecca take on a whole bunch of Animals at the Wild Blue resort just as David locks up once more.
David and Falco Drive
Cole Cassidy, I mean Falco, drops David off after they finish a gig. Though we might not know what “Meat Delight” is, we can check this spot off.
David and Rebecca Talk
David! You complete and utter fool! Listen to Rebecca!
David and Lucy Talk
Like a bad hangover, David is having a rough go of things with his implants. Everyone is concerned for him and Lucy hopes to get through to him.
Lucy Scouts Her Target
Just as things are reaching a breaking point with David, Lucy gets a ping that her target is nearby. Doing her best Batman impersonation, she posts up on a rooftop.
Episode 9: Humanity
Faraday’s Hideout
Is it actually Faraday’s place? Is it a rented villa for torturing people? We can’t be sure, as Faraday is starting to rapidly unravel. Either way, V can access this spot while on a mission from Wakako.
The Basilisk
The Basilisk’s only purpose in the show is to show how utterly badass David has become. However, that doesn’t diminish how fun it is to use this hover tank in-game.
Episode 10: My Moon My Man
Trek into Night City
With David loaded up, the remaining crew head into Night City to save Lucy. This trip begins near the Sunset Motel in the Badlands and heads to Corpo Plaza.
David’s Memories
As David is losing it, we see a flashback to Corpo Plaza.
Buck-a-Slice Diner
Who can turn down a tasty slice of pizza? Judging from my scale, certainly not me. What’s that? They don’t serve Kiwi here?
Adam Smasher
Night City’s boogeyman himself makes an appearance in the final episode. He appears in 2077, where you can have quite an impact on his fate.
Lucy and the Moon
The final Easter Egg comes courtesy of Reddit user u/YurBoyChris. In their post, they point out that in the credits of each episode is a panning shot of Lucy looking up at the moon and its similarity to the Moon tarot card found in the game. Executive Producer and Showrunner Rafal Jaki confirmed this in the same post.
