How to increase your grade as a Hollow

Hollows are generally the most straightforward to upgrade in Type Soul. However, it’s important to note the requirement changes once you hit Semi-grade 1.

  • From Grade 5 to Semi-grade 1 is only upgraded through mission XP.
  • To increase your rank from semi-grade 1 to Elite Grade, you need grip and raid XP alongside your mission XP.

How to increase your grade as a Soul Reaper

While Soul Reapers go through the usual ranks, they have much more variety in their goals to increase their grade. In particular, joining a division and killing Shikai are important steps in their advancement.

  • From Trainee to Grade 3 you just need mission XP.
  • From Grade 3 to Grade 2 you need to start acquiring experience from the division you joined as well as normal mission XP
  • From Grade 2 to Semi-grade 1 requires you to gain Shikai XP (available when you reach grade 2) on top of division duties and mission XP
  • From Semi-grade 1 to Elite Grade you’ll need the full gamut of Raid XP, Grip XP, Shikai EXP, Missions XP and Division XP.

How to increase your grade as a Quincy

Like Hollows, Quincies are pretty straightforward, aside from needing to kill Hollows (NPCs, not players) to get to the finish line.

  • From Grade 5 to Semi-grade 1, you simply need mission XP
  • From Semi-grade 1 to Elite Grade – Mission XP, Raid XP, and Grip EXP, and you also need to kill Hollow NPCs.
