Combo, combo, combo
Resident Evil 4 remake’s Mercenaries mode is now live, and of course, there are ranks and score attack elements to master. It’s kind of what the mode was built on when it originally appeared in the series before RE4 codified what “Mercs” is known as today. Here’s all of the score requirements for getting S ranks, which are the ultimate goal of the mode, and what you can consider “beating” Mercs.
Is Mercenaries mode endless in the Resident Evil 4 remake?
Nope! Mercenaries mode in the RE4 remake is not endless.
Each “run” will actually end after 150 enemies have been taken out, and your score will be tallied based on the number of combos and the amount of finesse you were able to pull off in that run. Note the enemy kill count at the top of the screen (pictured above): it’ll give you an idea of when elite enemies will pop out and how close you are to the end of the run.
You will get ranked even if you die mid-run. You can also unlock content after death provided you have the requisite rank.
All Resident Evil 4 remake Mercenaries S rank requirements
Like the core game, there are several tiers of S ranks in Mercenaries. Here’s a breakdown:
- S++ rank: 1,000,000 points or more
- S+ rank: 500,000 points or more
- S rank: 200,000 points or more
These values apply to every character and every map. There are no separate tallies or requirements for individual characters or arenas, so all you need to do is remember three sets of numbers if you’re going for the gold.
