Call of Duty’s map library keeps getting bigger and bigger with each passing update. We’ve seen a combination of brand-new locations and reimaginations of classic areas from past games. Here’s a sneak peek at all Warzone and MW3 Season 3 maps.
What are the new maps in MW3 Season 3?
Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 presents six new Core maps for launch and the Mid-Season:
- 6 Star
- Emergency
- Growhouse
- Tanked
- Checkpoint (Mid-Season)
- Grime (Mid-Season)
Each map centers around 6v6 player-based matches found in the Multiplayer Playlist. The first four mentioned above will be available at launch, but the last two won’t debut until MW3 and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded. Let’s break down every location to see what’s in store for these maps.
6 Star
6 Star is a tropical medium-sized map where you can check into the Hadiqa 6 Star resort. Although the area looks to be the perfect place for relaxation, it will bring out absolute mayhem in MW3 Season 3’s Playlist. There are plenty of hidden destinations to take advantage of, including the coverage of the pool water and a vet connecting the Aquarium and Oasis Lounge.
Emergency
Like Shipment, Emergency features a small layout that makes it easier to find the enemy. The Arizonan medical facility primarily focuses on interior structures, such as a laboratory and lobby. However, the map’s exterior could still prove valuable for those who enjoy long-range battles.
Growhouse
Growhouse first debuted in Call of Duty Vanguard Season 3, previously taking on the moniker of Sphere. The map showcases some similarities to its original layout, but some new dynamics will change up the beat. Growhouse is one of the most compact maps of the MW3 Playlist and is even smaller than Meat. That said, matches will go by quickly here due to its high enemy contact.
Tanked
Warzone and DMZ players will recognize Vondel Zoo’s Tanked map. This time, it has been slightly revamped to create better visuals for players. Exterior pathways will be well-lit for travel, perfect for long-ranged attacks. Nevertheless, close-quarters combat is still frequent in this medium-sized map, especially near the Aquarium.
Checkpoint
For Season 3 Reloaded, we have the small-sized Checkpoint map. The destination presents a mini part of the classic Rebirth Island. It’ll certainly be challenging to hide from enemy players in this Stronghold, so try your best to get coverage in its many structures.
Grime
Grime takes you over to the streets of London in another medium-sized layout. This new MW3 Season 3 map has several points of interest, including a boathouse, an abandoned SKN Comms center, and Captain’s Dog pub. If you don’t mind getting dirty, dive into the murky brown waters for a sneak attack.
What is the new map in Warzone Season 3?
Rebirth Island is the new map of Warzone Season 3. While MW3 Multiplayer has a small snippet, Warzone covers the entire layout with various POIs. The map was first introduced in Call of Duty: Warzone but was removed after being replaced by Caldera. Now, by popular demand, Rebirth Island has been revamped for Season 3.
All Warzone Rebirth Island POIs
You can use the following POIs in Warzone’s Rebirth Island:
- Bioweapons
- Chemical Engineering
- Dock
- Industry
- Harbor
- Prison
- Headquarters
- Factory
- Living Quarters
- Stronghold
- Control Center
Many POIs, like Bioweapons, Chemical Engineering, and Living Quarters, make for excellent drop points. But, of course, it’s entirely up to you on how you want to start the Warzone round. You can also use the surrounding water for those sneak attacks.
The new game mode, Rebirth Resurgence, is available for the MW3 and Warzone Season 3 launch. This mode offers a much more fast-paced round than Battle Royale, with a maximum of 44 players. The Mid-Season also showcases Warzone’s Rebirth Infil Strikes and Rebirth Lockdown. While Lockdown allows the squad to control multiple zones, Infil Strikes unleash airstrike attacks just before Infil.
In addition to these modes, Warzone Ranked Play takes point in Rebirth Island for even more challenges and rewards.
