Ship Services Technicians are hugely important in Starfield. They will fix up your ship, help you to modify and upgrade it, and happily sell you new ships with which you can explore the universe. You don’t want to have to jump back to New Atlantis to find one, however. In this article, we’ll show you where to find assorted Ship Technicians.
Where to find Ship Technicians in Starfield
You can usually find a Ship Services Technician at the major settlements on almost any planet. Even those run by specific corporations or factions will try to be as independent as possible, so they will offer their own services. They will allow you to buy, modify, and sell ships, as well as change your home ship.
- New Atlantis on Jemison – the very first Ship Technician you will find in the game. He is right at the start of the landing pad in front of your ship.
- Cydonia on Mars (Sol System) – close to humanity’s spiritual home, doesn’t have an amazing stock of parts but sells some nice ships.
- New Homestead on Titan (Sol System) – can be found near the Trade Authority Kiosk.
- Deimos Staryard on Deimos (Sol System) – yet another Sol system ship maker.
- Akila City on Akila (Cheyenne System) – located down the path from the main landing pad at Akila City, you can find him inside a little shack.
- The Den (Wolf System) – The Den is something of a legal no-man’s land, existing to allow for all manner of illegal activities. It can be found in the Wolf system, just beside Alpha Centauri, your starting system. This is a great place to sell your contraband.
- The Red Mile on Porrima III (Porrima System) – can be found three jumps to the right of Alpha Centauri, home of all manner of illegal things. This is where you will need to go to get a shielded cargo hold.
- Paradiso on Porrima II (Porrima System) – can be found near the Trade Authority kiosk. It can be hard to spot as this guy is quite well-dressed compared to other ship techs. You can purchase the Abyss Trekker here, a fantastic combat vessel.
- Neon on Volii Alpha (Volii System) – The ship services technician here is located in an office on the left side of the main landing pad.
- Taiyo Astronnering on Volii Alpha – you need to head inside, then to the left, into the Ryujin-controlled area of the promenade to get there. You will be able to buy the Narwhal here.
- Gagarin on Gagarin (Alpha Centauri System) – Yes, I bet you didn’t know there was another one this close to the start of the game.
- Hopetown on Polvo (Valo System) – This guy is standing right beside the main landing pad, and you will almost certainly visit Hopetown as part of a mission.
- The Key (Kryx System) – You will need to look for an NPC called Jasmine when you land.
- Stroud-Eklund Staryard orbiting Dalvik (Narion System) – you will need to speak with Havershaw in his cubicle in the first area. You need to go here a lot of the Overdesigned mission, but you can get a great free ship.
- The Eleos Retreat on Ixyll II (The Ixyll System) – you will find them in a dedicated Ship Services building just to the front of the landing pad. You can buy the Dragonfire II from this technician.
All manufacturer-specific shipyards in Starfield
There are a handful of shipyards that are owned by some of the companies that make ships in the game. These are the best places to go to purchase parts directly from those companies. If you are looking for a very specific design, it’s a good idea to buy all parts from one manufacturer, so visit these places to see what they have.
New Homestead on Titan (Sol System) – Nova Galactic
The place to go for Nova Galactic ships parts. The place to go for habs, grav drives, and landing gears.
Hopetown on Polvo (Valo System) – Hope Tech
The place to go for Hope Tech parts and ships. The king of general ship-building stuff. Pick up your structural parts here.
Deimos Staryard on Deimos (Sol System)
Unsurprisingly, you can find Deimos ships here. Ballistic weapons should be picked up here.
Neon on Volii Alpha (Volii System) – Taiyo
This is where to go if you want Taiyo Astroneering parts. Cockpits and habs.
Stroud-Eklund Staryard orbiting Dalvik (Narion System)
The Mercedes of spaceships, go here for luxury.
