The Xbox Game Pass games list seems pretty sparse as we head towards 2024. However, there are some many anticipated games hitting the service that may catch your eye. Let’s take a look.
Thirsty Suitors (November 2)
In just a few days, we’ll be playing Thirsty Suitors, an energy-driven Annapurna Games title. It has turn-based battles, skateboarding, cooking, and a whole lot of style.
Similar to Scott Pilgrim, you’ll play as the character Jala, who must fight her exes in boss battles. She’s mending relationships in time for her sister’s wedding, you see. The skateboarding looks radical, and the cooking seems surprisingly action-packed.
Football Manager 2024 (November 6)
Football Manager 2024 is a simulation title that lets you form the ultimate team, figure out the transfer market, and level up your players. There are also new ball physics and lighting that have been added to the 2024 version of this series.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (November 9)
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name marks the return of Kazuma Kiryu, who has been in hiding after he faked his own death. However, a mysterious figure has made him emerge from the shadows and take on the alias “Joryu.”
You’ll be switching between the Yakuza style and the Agent style in combat. The first is what you’d expect from Kiryu’s past movesets. The Agent style, however, includes electrified bind wires and other gadgets. Sega says on the game’s Steam page we’ll “strategically adapt to the situation and leverage both styles to dominate and destroy hordes of enemies.”
Persona 5 Tactica (November 17)
The Phantom Thieves are back, and this time they’ll be tackling a strategy RPG battlefield. There’s a new storyline that has the group traveling to a dangerous alternate world. You’ll be taking out a group called the Legionnaires alongside a new character called Erina, shown in the above picture.
There are so many Persona 5 spinoffs to keep up with, but regardless, this looks like a Game Pass title you won’t want to miss.
SteamWorld Build (December 1)
Love building towns and managing them? SteamWorld Build might be the game for you. You’ll build a civilization from the ground up by collecting resources, keeping your city safe from monsters, and making sure your citizens are happy. The Western twist to this genre should make this different enough from others of its ilk.
Persona 3 Reload (February 2)
The classic JRPG Persona 3 returns with gorgeous visuals and a snazzy user interface. Persona 3 Relead also adds new scenes with expanded voice work from a new cast. New and arranged music will be heading to the game too.
If you haven’t played Persona 3 before, this seems to be the best way to check it out. I’m a big fan of Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5, so I can’t wait to play it.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (April 23)
JRPG fans can look forward to another anticipated title in April. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is packed with over 100 playable characters and a stunning art style. The characters look like they’re from the 2D sprite era but in 3D form.
Suikoden fans will hopefully be in for a treat, as Eiyuden Chronicle is written, produced, and directed by Suikoden series’ creator Yoshitaka Murayama.
